Our purpose for Grassbrook Walers, is to provide good quality horses and ponies, focusing on breeding for temperament. Everybody knows how hard it can be to find a horse that has a lovely calm temperament, with a handsome conformation. While we will be breeding and educating more of our own stock into the future, for the moment we will be occasionally offering some of the stock we accumulate for sale, depending on our needs here on the farm.

We are a 50minute drive outside of Tamworth, NSW, near the paragliding/hangliding town of Manilla. Our stud is situated on the rocky ridged end of 11000 acres and we also have a further 5000 acres at our disposal for growing out youngstock.  We are on good ground, hard  and rocky, for growing foals out and spelling our colts. It is also well suited to getting young horses working well under saddle on stock, in the steep hilly and rocky areas, encouraging our animals to pick up feet, not be stumbly, and cope with the different aspects of mustering. It's a great place to start them and get them experienced in the banalities of being a saddlehorse.

Here at home, there is a steady stream of cattle, dogs (Grassbrook Catahoulas!), traffic, machinery roaring about the place, getting the stock well versed in noisy semi trucks, loaders, balers etc. We also host Scripture Unions' Ride Like a Girl camp, as well as short clinics and camps, so we  have a bit of activity going on for our stock to become immune to!
